Fellow Member

EligibilityA Fellow must have at least a Masters degree, if earned before Jan. 1, 2007, or at least a Doctoral degree if earned Jan. 1, 2007, or after. A Fellow must be licensed to practice by their state, or have proof of completion of 350 clock hours of supervised clinical practicum and proof of successful completion of a national exam in audiology.

Please submit a completed application, being sure to sign the Code of Ethics. Also submit a copy of your state license. If your state does not have licensure (or the equivalent) or your job does not require you to hold a license, please submit proof of your 350 supervised clinical hours and proof of your completion of a national exam in audiology.

Fellow (Doctoral Student/Candidate)

Eligibility
A Fellow must have at least a Masters degree, if earned before Jan. 1, 2007, or at least a Doctoral degree if earned Jan. 1, 2007, or after. A Fellow must be licensed to practice by their state or have proof of completion of 350 clock hours of supervised clinical practicum, and proof of successful completion of a national exam in audiology.

In order to qualify for this membership type, a Fellow member must be enrolled in a residential doctoral-level program in audiology. A Fellow (Doctoral Student/Candidate) will receive student pricing for dues, registrations, products and services, and other student benefits as appropriate.

Submit a completed application, being sure to sign the Code of Ethics. Also submit a copy of your state license. If your state does not have licensure (or the equivalent) or your job does not require you to hold a license, please submit proof of your 350 supervised clinical hours and proof of your completion of a national exam in audiology. Completion of your expected degree information, along with a signature from your PhD advisor, will also be required for this membership.

SAA Member

Eligibility
A SAA Member must be enrolled full-time in a doctoral-level audiology program at an accredited institution. A SAA Member must not be eligible to be a Fellow Member.

SAA Members also receive membership in the American Academy of Audiology.

Documentation
Submit a completed application, being sure to sign the Code of Ethics, detailing your expected degree along with institution and anticipated graduation dates.

A signature from a current Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology must accompany the application.

SAA Members who apply after September 1, receive membership privileges for the balance of the current year and all of the following year for the annual dues rate.

SAA Undergraduate Associate

Eligibility
Undergraduate Associates are those enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited institution for higher learning. Undergraduate Associate members may not vote or hold office, but shall receive all Academy publications and materials and are entitled to all other benefits of membership. Undergraduate Associate members must have an active interest in the field of audiology. Undergraduate Associate membership will terminate upon graduation with a Bachelor's degree or disenrollment from an undergraduate program.

International Member

Eligibility
An International Members possess formal academic training in audiology from a non-US postsecondary academic institution, and/or has clinical or research experience in the area of audiology, although no restrictions are placed on the type of degree held. International Members may not vote or hold office, but shall receive all Academy publications and materials and are entitled to all other benefits of membership.

International Fellow

Eligibility
An International Fellow holds at least a Master’s Degree in Audiology from a US institution of higher learning. A non-US degree is accepted with documentation that the degree held is the equivalent of a Master’s degree in the US. International Fellows may vote, hold office, shall receive all Academy publications and materials, and are entitled to all other benefits of membership.

Affiliate Member

Eligibility
An Affiliate Member is one who holds at least a masters degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning, and has an active professional interest in hearing, hearing science, or audiology in accordance with current Academy policy. An affiliate member is not an audiologist or is not otherwise eligible for membership as a Fellow. Affiliate Members are prohibited from using affiliation with the Academy for the promotion of commercial products or services.
